Taking part in lettering challenges on social media is stressful, intimidating and fun as hell. I hand-lettered this as part of the #homwork lettering challenge and I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Our challenge was to take the cliched phrase "Live, Love, Laugh" and change the last word to something else that started with L. Is anyone surprised that I chose "Lumberjack"...
Logo I created for an imaginary outdoor gear company used on an action sports web template. I like how it turned out so much that I'm considering making it a real company! Hahaha, wouldn't that be a trip!
This is my sister's beautiful family and we had the opportunity to do a little photoshoot in McCall, Idaho this past summer. Conditions were perfect, lighting was perfect, family was perfect. Couldn't ask for more!
M&A Wedding Announcements + Inserts
Sometimes the photography, the bride's personal styles and the design come together so perfectly, I could kiss it. I thoroughly enjoyed designing these modern wedding announcements with little woodsy details here and there. I also enjoyed creating a monogram for them that went along with the bohemian feel.
Make-A-Wish Gala Invitation
Make-A-Wish is such a dream to work with. I love knowing my skills are being put to a worthy cause. This year they wanted the invitation to look more modern and classy to appeal to a wider audience. I focused on typography and making that visually appealing — making it fit into a box shape, and instead of the usual "Tinker Bell fairy dust" look, I went with a nice constellation image.
Ebony & Ivory Gala Branding
The Ebony & Ivory Gala is held annually by University of Utah Health Care. Each year it raises money for different causes, for example, last year's cause was to raise enough money to fund a new family suite where families could stay while their infants were in the NICU. I've been so honored to work with this gala 3 years in a row now.
Escape Games Logo
I have not had the chance to participate in an escape room YET but I did have the opportunity to work with this new escape room business located in Arizona! They really wanted a monkey in the logo and monkeys are great so I didn't need any explanation! The unique hat and pipe I'm sure give it away that we were going for a Sherlock Holmes type character. And any day that I get to illustrate a Sherlock Holmes monkey is a great day.
One of my favorite projects by far: handlettering and illustrating this guy to go on a shirt to be sold at 5k and 10k's. These races are held in national parks so I wanted the illustration to look like it was alive and overgrown, packed with detail!
You better believe that I splurged on gold foil and thick thick thick paper for my own business cards! And I just had to include botanical illustrations!
